Can you tell I'm still working through the 9lbs of apples?
This is such a simple and yummy treat for entertaining or if you want to make a fun appetizer for your crew before dinner.
This one is easy to swap ingredients out if you don't have everything on hand. Instead of almond butter you could use apple butter or different nut butter options, or skip it all together because the real stars are the brie and the apples, let's be honest.
No fig jam? Maple syrup or honey are great options, too.
A golden brown, flaky crust wrapped around melty brie and topped with sweet, caramelized apples...
.... are you drooling yet?

1 8oz wheel of brie
Almond butter, or other nut butter

1/4 teaspoon salt
Crackers or bread for serving
- Preheat your oven to 425˚ and remove the frozen puff pastry to thaw.
- Add your apples, butter, fig jam and salt to an oven-safe dish. Bake at 425˚ for 25 minutes.
- Once your puff pastry has thawed, place in an oven-safe dish and place brie wheel on top. Cover with almond butter and fold the pastry corners in to the center. Brush on egg wash (beaten egg) and sprinkle on coarse sugar. Bake at 425˚ for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and brie is ooey, gooey, melty, deliciousness.
- Pour the apples on top of the baked brie and serve with crackers, bread or just forks because YUM.
PS - thank you for your Fall prayers. I felt the first real cool breeze on my face yesterday morning. We've got a ways to go until beanie weather graces us here in Eastern MD but I appreciate you.
PPS - thank you for all of the kind comments about my latest journal post. I got some emails and text messages that really put a smile on my face and made me so happy. It means a lot to me that you take the time out of your day to read my words and that they touch you in a special way. Again, I really appreciate you. <3
